Winky Wright And Jermain Taylor After A Shot At Boxing Mundine

Posted on Thursday 21 February 2008

Anthony Mundine has been fighting much lesser opponents for a few months now. Blaming minor reasons such as his eye problems and injuries to milk money from the Australian public on pay per views. Yet he is attracting heavy negotiations from Winky Wright and Jermain Taylor.

Reasons why Winky and Taylor want to fight Mundine:

1. Winky is struggling to get another big name to fight after loosing to Hopkins. Kessler seemed his only option but even he is to much of a risk. Mundine has a world title belt and winning that would assure Winky of another big fight in the United States.

2. A fight with Mundine would sell a lot of pay per views. As Mundine is not well liked in the United States. Both Taylor and Winky would get close to one million pay per view sales.

3. Taylor is moving up to the super middle weight division and favours him self to beat Mundine. Taylor really needs to win after coming off two straight losses to Pavlik. This is a fight he would likely start favourite in and be the home boy with a lot of support in the United States.

Anthony Mundine is very under rated. And he stands a good chance of beating Taylor. Against Winky he also has another good chance. A lot of American supporters are under rating him, but his next fight will likely be against a big name and it should show whether he has what it takes to mix it with the best on the big stage.
