Jose Reyes’ bases-clearing triple keyed a six-run third inning that included Pelfrey’s first-ever RBI and the New York Mets routed the St. Louis Cardinals 11-1 on Thursday night.

The Mets beat the Yankees 15-6 in Pelfrey’s last start, he won a 9-6 game last month, and had a 3-0 lead against the Cardinals before throwing one pitch.

“If you can’t win with that kind of run support, you know you’re going to have problems,” Pelfrey said. “It takes all the pressure off, and you don’t feel like you have to be so perfect.”

Carlos Delgado had a two-run homer and three RBIs as the Mets pounded rookie Mitchell Boggs, rebounding from a one-run loss to earn a split in the four-game series entering a four-game series at NL East-leading Philadelphia starting Friday.

“We just kept the line moving, and that’s what it takes for this offense to be successful,” New York third baseman David Wright said. “It seemed like everybody chipped in. You get a big walk here, a big two-out RBI there and we just kept rolling.”

Jon Lester looked like he did when he threw a no-hitter six weeks ago. The New York Yankees looked like they have in their recent struggles.

Lester threw a five-hitter and the Boston Red Sox ended a five-game losing streak with a 7-0 victory over the Yankees on Thursday night in the opener of a four-game series.

“He used his two-seamer, his cutter, his four-seamer, got a lot of first-pitch strikes, got some double plays,” Red Sox manager Terry Francona said. “He really looked like a 6-foot-5 major league left-hander.”

Like the one that threw a no-hitter against Kansas City on May 19.

“Stuff-wise, I don’t think it was any different,” he said.

The Yankees lost for the fourth time in five games and another poor offensive effort meant a 30-minute closed-door meeting in the clubhouse.

Learning to bowl is fun and easy. The game of bowling is centuries old, and it is enjoyed by fun-seekers and professionals all over the world. When you want to learn how to bowl, head to the bowling alley for the best instruction. Here a friend or teacher can coach you about all you need to know within a few short hours.

You can rent or borrow both your bowling ball and your bowling shoes right at the bowling alley. Once you find the right shoe size and a bowling ball that is the correct weight for you, head down to the lane to practice. If possible, find a lane that is away from other bowlers so you won’t be distracted.

Some lucky bowlers can get spares or even strikes with little or no skill, but that is not the norm. Don’t get discouraged when you first start bowling if you only hit a few pins or send your ball to the gutter. This is absolutely normal. If you concentrate on what you are doing and listen to your instructor, your game will get better.

Your bowling ball is simply a sphere with holes in it. You put your middle finger and your ring finger into the holes to get a grip on the ball before releasing it toward the pins. There are three ways to grip the bowling ball.

The Conventional Grip has you putting your fingers into the holes up to the second joint. With the Finger Tip Grip, you insert your fingers just until the first joint. Then you have the Sarge-Easter Grip, where you put both fingers in one hole, but this one is just for experienced bowlers.

Your teacher will usually show you both the Conventional Grip and the Finger Tip Grip, and you can use whichever one you are more comfortable with.

Most bowlers take three steps forward before they release the bowling ball. This will generally give you the correct approach and follow through needed to get the ball to reach the pins. Focus on the arrows, markers and dots on the lane to help guide your ball to its target.

Bowling is fun and not too difficult, but you won’t become a pro overnight. If you want to improve as a bowler, you have to practice and listen to your instructor. You can also get some great tips and tricks from the lane operator at your bowling alley. They are there every day, so they are pretty much an encyclopedia of bowling.

It is important to know the feeding habits of catfish in order to have a more successful catfishing trip. Catfish will feed on different kinds of foods and baits, and not every kind will take the same bait. Of course, there are some similarities to consider, including how catfish find food and what types they are more likely to find.

The feed habits of catfish is similar in terms of types of catfish in that they all look for food by smelling. Sensory cells in the whiskers of catfish help them to find food. In fact, foods with stronger scents will be more likely to be found by catfish because it will be easier for them to detect these foods.

Also, catfish tend to be more active in looking for food at night. This is a better time for catfishing. While this is a common habit in terms of the feeding habits of catfish, different kinds of catfish will look for different kinds of foods. The feeding habits of catfish are different based on what type of catfish it is. The channel catfish, for instance, will normally look for food at the bottom of the water bed, and they particularly feed on aquatic insects. Crayfish and crustaceans are also popular among channel catfish. Younger ones will eat aquatic larvae. Also, channel catfish do not particularly like carrion, contrary to what some believe.

The blue catfish will look for food at the bottom of the water bed most of the time. When looking for fish they’ll move upward though. Since the blue catfish has a more advanced body type, they can take both fish and aquatic insects regardless of size. However, an adult will take in mussels and a younger one will use fish that is smaller.

The white catfish is more flexible, but the feeding habits of catfish like this are different. This type of catfish does not always eat at night, and it can also eat fish eggs and aquatic insects. They will also eat plants, which makes their habits different from the other feeding habits of catfish.

Bullhead catfish are more of scavengers. Yellow ones will feed on snails and some organic decay, while brown bullhead catfish will take carrion, smaller fish and worms. These catfish are not necessarily picky in terms of their feeding habits, as they will take the lower level kinds of foods without argument.

Tadd Fujikawa shot a 4-over 76 in the final round of the Mid-Pacific Open on Sunday to win his first tournament as a professional.

The tournament also marked the first time the 17-year-old made the cut as a pro.

Fujikawa entered the final round with a seven stroke lead over David Ishii, the 1990 Hawaiian Open champion and 14-time Japan Golf Tour winner.

He bogeyed three of the last four holes on the front nine and led by five at the turn.

But Fujikawa then shot par on eight of the back nine holes en route to becoming the youngest player in the tournament’s 15-year history with a 10-under 278.

“First cut as a pro, and first win as a pro. Feeling pretty good,” Fujikawa said. “Didn’t really play too well today, it was a struggle. But luckily I grinded through it, made a lot of clutch puts toward the end.”

The Moanalua High School junior made history at the Sony Open last year when he became the youngest player in 50 years to make the cut on the PGA Tour. He was 16 at the time.

He turned professional shortly afterward, in part so he could earn enough money to travel to tournaments.

But he’s struggled since, failing to make the cut at 10 pro events including five on the PGA Tour.

Ishii, 52, praised his young rival, who took home $13,500 for his victory.

“He played smart, he didn’t make any foolish mistakes on the tough holes. He showed he could manage his way around Mid-Pac,” said Ishii.

Ishii, a three-time Mid-Pac winner, finished second at 285. Defending champion Darren Summers (73) and 2005 champion John Lynch (75) tied for third at 286.

The Detroit Pistons were hanging out at the scorer’s table as if it was a preseason game, joking around with a former teammate as he enjoyed a drink and nachos in the front row.

Philadelphia made them pay for it.

Andre Miller scored 20 points and Willie Green had a career playoff-high 17, helping the 76ers stun Detroit 90-86 Sunday in Game 1 of their first-round series.

Sixers forward Reggie Evans smiled when told the Pistons were shooting the breeze with Flip Murray during breaks in the game.

“That’s good,” Evans said.

Rasheed Wallace took the blame for the loss—despite having 24 points, nine rebounds and matching a franchise playoff record with seven blocks—but didn’t think blowing a big lead had anything to do with talking to Murray.

In less than 2 month’s time, Uefa Euro 2008 will officially kicked off in Austria and Switzerland from 7th to 29 June 2008. As a soccer die-hard fan, this is an important month for me and I will want to watch as many soccer matches as possible. Although I have subscribed to a cable channel, I still need to work at my office which I hate during this period but what can I do? Although I have thought of taking a 3 weeks leave, but my boss does not approve it.

I have tried to search for ways to watch soccer matches on internet but most sources point to youtube which is not Live and the video is removed very often, normally just days after it is uploaded. Some websites offers pay per view services where you pay a couple of dollars for a single match. I have tried that but soon give it up because it’s too expensive in the long term.

Then one day, I saw my colleague getting excited in front of his computer and screaming in silence. As I walked closer, I saw an on going champions league quarter-finals soccer match between Arsenal and Liverpool. Wow, I must say I’m pretty amazed by the high quality video and not to mention that the match is Live and sound quality is good! We enjoyed the exciting match together while doing our work on computer.

My friend then told me that he only pays a small fee and he can enjoy live videos of most soccer matches like epl, champions leagues, uefa cup, world cup as well as euro 2008 games on his computer, without any hardware required. I went to download the software and within 10 minutes, I found myself watching my favourite soccer match and also able to watch over 3000 satellite channels including sports, news and entertainment. I was totally blown away.

What happens is that the software that I downloaded was developed after 7 years of research involving millions of dollars and is based on the latest peer to peer (P2P) video streaming technology. This means that the distribution of video streams is possible without a central server. This suits the internet environment and therefore whether you are in the States, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia or any other parts of the world, as long as you have an internet connection, you can watch Euro 2008 Live on your computer anywhere in the world.

His agent said he bettered his time in the 40-yard dash by more than two-tenths of a second in the workout at the University of Oklahoma. But a news release from OU with numbers compiled from NFL scouts indicated the improvement was only slight.

His agent, Chad Speck, said Kelly ran the 40 as fast as 4.46 Wednesday after running a 4.68 on OU’s pro day one week ago. But the numbers from the NFL scouts showed Kelly ran the 40 in 4.69 and 4.63, according to a release from OU spokesman Kenny Mossman.

Speck said the scouts may have added time to his results to reflect the faster surface he was on Wednesday.

“There’s nothing that we can do about, if a team decides to adjust it,” Speck said.

“He ran much faster today.”

Kelly complained after the workout last week that he had expected to run on the AstroTurf inside Oklahoma’s indoor track facility, but was forced instead to run on a softer surface, resulting in the slower time. He has since apologized and thanked OU for setting up the latest workout.

Everybody in Toronto is in a panic. The leafs are once again losing and after 40 years without a cup we’re all up in arms. Blame whoever you want but the bottom line is that this team has not had had a solid foundation to build on for years. Like any good organization building a winner starts from the top and filters down. When was the last time the leafs had strong leadership? Pat Quinn was certainly a good leader but his hands were tied to some extent. As were Cliff Fletcher’s. No folks, we need to look to the top and start with ownership.

The teacher’s pension board owns this team. How many other teams in the NHL are owned by a large group? Of course there are many markets with investment groups and “silent partners”. The difference here is the profitability factor. Everyone in business wants to be profitable but you can’t dismiss the fact that it is of greater importance for a group of pension stakeholders. Imagine… the Leafs lose money, the pensions drop and the teacher’s can’t retire. With the Toronto marketplace that will likely never happen. And with the pension group owning this team out of greed and a lack of respect for heritage don’t expect a cup anytime soon. What Toronto needs is a single owner or a group with one person in charge and focused on winning.

Focused on winning? What a concept! Could you imagine if the Leafs had the same commitment Ottawa has or New Jersey or Detroit. Well, whether they admit it or not Peddie and Tanenbaum are the most two out of focus hockey execs that exist. One’s Yin the other’s Yang. While one says “were not doing this” the other is doing the exact opposite. Success comes from leadership and leadership demands alignment and consistency. How is the rest of the organization suppose to know what’s going on if these two clowns don’t know what’s up and what’s down? To Tanenbaum’s credit he does offer more in terms of wanting to win and hockey knowledge but being a minority shareholder the final say is always left to Peddie. Why keep these guys? or moreover, why keep Peddie? Obviously he turns profit and that’s what the board wants but let’s get real. The Maple Leafs are as close to a sure shot ROI as any product can possibly be. Look at Harold Ballard. This guy ripped fans off for years and still racked in the cash. Commitment to winning is clearly the last thing on the Pension Boards mind.

John Ferguson Jr.? What else needs to be said. He’s made some brutal mistakes. Overpaying, no-trade clause, trading prospects, draft picks… the list goes on and on. Clearly this guy wasn’t ready for prime time when our friend Peddie brought him in. Who’s fault is it? Both, of course. Accountability and ownership has not been a strong point for either and yes if your leaders aren’t accountable do you think everyone else down the food chain will be? I do have some empathy for Ferguson. I mean, if my boss continually ran me thru the media the way Peddie has with Ferguson I would probably lose my marbles. That’s not to say that Peddie isn’t right about Ferguson’s shortcomings it’s just that some things should be left behind closed doors. But Peddie needs a scapegoat and someone to take responsibility. He’s not so we know who is. A true leader will always have the backs of their team no matter what the circumstances are. Again, Peddie demonstrates nothing in the leadership department. When follower’s witness such behaviour they feel it’s acceptable and follower’s will follow.

Paul Maurice? Give him a chance. You can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shit. From day one he’s been working with limited talent trying to make the best of it. I think he has a true desire to win… one of the few in the organization.

At the end of the day changing GM’s and coaches will not work in saving the Leafs. They need to start at the top and work down. Let’s get a new owner, CEO and President with knowledge and passion about hockey in Toronto. Let the President hire a GM that’s ready for prime time and let the GM deal with the day-to-day hockey operations and make the decisions without interference. A patchwork job will not work here folks. This is going to be an extremely long process.
