Feeding Habits of Catfish

Posted on Friday 23 May 2008

It is important to know the feeding habits of catfish in order to have a more successful catfishing trip. Catfish will feed on different kinds of foods and baits, and not every kind will take the same bait. Of course, there are some similarities to consider, including how catfish find food and what types they are more likely to find.

The feed habits of catfish is similar in terms of types of catfish in that they all look for food by smelling. Sensory cells in the whiskers of catfish help them to find food. In fact, foods with stronger scents will be more likely to be found by catfish because it will be easier for them to detect these foods.

Also, catfish tend to be more active in looking for food at night. This is a better time for catfishing. While this is a common habit in terms of the feeding habits of catfish, different kinds of catfish will look for different kinds of foods. The feeding habits of catfish are different based on what type of catfish it is. The channel catfish, for instance, will normally look for food at the bottom of the water bed, and they particularly feed on aquatic insects. Crayfish and crustaceans are also popular among channel catfish. Younger ones will eat aquatic larvae. Also, channel catfish do not particularly like carrion, contrary to what some believe.

The blue catfish will look for food at the bottom of the water bed most of the time. When looking for fish they’ll move upward though. Since the blue catfish has a more advanced body type, they can take both fish and aquatic insects regardless of size. However, an adult will take in mussels and a younger one will use fish that is smaller.

The white catfish is more flexible, but the feeding habits of catfish like this are different. This type of catfish does not always eat at night, and it can also eat fish eggs and aquatic insects. They will also eat plants, which makes their habits different from the other feeding habits of catfish.

Bullhead catfish are more of scavengers. Yellow ones will feed on snails and some organic decay, while brown bullhead catfish will take carrion, smaller fish and worms. These catfish are not necessarily picky in terms of their feeding habits, as they will take the lower level kinds of foods without argument.

Fujikawa wins first tournament as professional

Posted on Monday 21 April 2008

FujikawaTadd Fujikawa shot a 4-over 76 in the final round of the Mid-Pacific Open on Sunday to win his first tournament as a professional.

The tournament also marked the first time the 17-year-old made the cut as a pro.

Fujikawa entered the final round with a seven stroke lead over David Ishii, the 1990 Hawaiian Open champion and 14-time Japan Golf Tour winner.

He bogeyed three of the last four holes on the front nine and led by five at the turn.

But Fujikawa then shot par on eight of the back nine holes en route to becoming the youngest player in the tournament’s 15-year history with a 10-under 278.

“First cut as a pro, and first win as a pro. Feeling pretty good,” Fujikawa said. “Didn’t really play too well today, it was a struggle. But luckily I grinded through it, made a lot of clutch puts toward the end.”

The Moanalua High School junior made history at the Sony Open last year when he became the youngest player in 50 years to make the cut on the PGA Tour. He was 16 at the time.

He turned professional shortly afterward, in part so he could earn enough money to travel to tournaments.

But he’s struggled since, failing to make the cut at 10 pro events including five on the PGA Tour.

Ishii, 52, praised his young rival, who took home $13,500 for his victory.

“He played smart, he didn’t make any foolish mistakes on the tough holes. He showed he could manage his way around Mid-Pac,” said Ishii.

Ishii, a three-time Mid-Pac winner, finished second at 285. Defending champion Darren Summers (73) and 2005 champion John Lynch (75) tied for third at 286.

Miller-led 76ers beat Pistons 90-86

Posted on Monday 21 April 2008

The Detroit Pistons were hanging out at the scorer’s table as if it was a preseason game, joking around with a former teammate as he enjoyed a drink and nachos in the front row.

Philadelphia made them pay for it.

Andre Miller scored 20 points and Willie Green had a career playoff-high 17, helping the 76ers stun Detroit 90-86 Sunday in Game 1 of their first-round series.

Sixers forward Reggie Evans smiled when told the Pistons were shooting the breeze with Flip Murray during breaks in the game.

“That’s good,” Evans said.

Rasheed Wallace took the blame for the loss—despite having 24 points, nine rebounds and matching a franchise playoff record with seven blocks—but didn’t think blowing a big lead had anything to do with talking to Murray.

How To Watch Euro 2008 Live Online Anywhere In The World

Posted on Monday 21 April 2008

In less than 2 month’s time, Uefa Euro 2008 will officially kicked off in Austria and Switzerland from 7th to 29 June 2008. As a soccer die-hard fan, this is an important month for me and I will want to watch as many soccer matches as possible. Although I have subscribed to a cable channel, I still need to work at my office which I hate during this period but what can I do? Although I have thought of taking a 3 weeks leave, but my boss does not approve it.

I have tried to search for ways to watch soccer matches on internet but most sources point to youtube which is not Live and the video is removed very often, normally just days after it is uploaded. Some websites offers pay per view services where you pay a couple of dollars for a single match. I have tried that but soon give it up because it’s too expensive in the long term.

Then one day, I saw my colleague getting excited in front of his computer and screaming in silence. As I walked closer, I saw an on going champions league quarter-finals soccer match between Arsenal and Liverpool. Wow, I must say I’m pretty amazed by the high quality video and not to mention that the match is Live and sound quality is good! We enjoyed the exciting match together while doing our work on computer.

My friend then told me that he only pays a small fee and he can enjoy live videos of most soccer matches like epl, champions leagues, uefa cup, world cup as well as euro 2008 games on his computer, without any hardware required. I went to download the software and within 10 minutes, I found myself watching my favourite soccer match and also able to watch over 3000 satellite channels including sports, news and entertainment. I was totally blown away.

What happens is that the software that I downloaded was developed after 7 years of research involving millions of dollars and is based on the latest peer to peer (P2P) video streaming technology. This means that the distribution of video streams is possible without a central server. This suits the internet environment and therefore whether you are in the States, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia or any other parts of the world, as long as you have an internet connection, you can watch Euro 2008 Live on your computer anywhere in the world.

Jesaiah is a die-hard football fan and have watch Soccer Matches Online using a special software with high quality streaming video. You can Watch Soccer Online by downloading the software.
